I’m so pleased to be announce that I have a room included in Australian House & Garden Top 50 Rooms for 2015. This is the first year I have entered, so I’m particularly chuffed that I was selected.
It’s a bathroom that I have waited years to be able to design – a Moroccan inspired bathroom with tadelakt walls and decorative tiles with feature lighting. Tadelakt, which is like a Venetian plaster, is used everywhere is Morocco. It’s waterproof, has a lovely patina & is easy to clean. Better still, it looks amazing with soft textural variations. I fell in love with it and always dreamed of a bathroom with Tadelakt walls. Not easy to come by in Australia, as it’s a highly skilled craft, so I went for the next best thing, tiles that gave me a similar effect. It’s definitely not the same as Tadelakt, but it’s close.
So the bathroom that made it into House & Garden is something I have wanted to create for many years. And here it is.
The House & Garden’s Reader’s Choice competition is open from now until 4th October, so please vote for my Moroccan Bathroom at www.homestolove.com.au/top50rooms
