With the holiday hustle and bustle upon us, self-care often falls by the wayside as we rush around buying gifts, planning gatherings, and trying to make everything perfect. This year, I’m starting a new tradition that I think we could all benefit from – giving myself a holiday gift with a focus on self-care and self-compassion.

In the spirit of gift-giving, we spend so much time and effort trying to pick out the perfect gift for our loved ones. But we forget about listening to our own wants and needs. My latest post: The Most Important Gift You’ll Give This Year, dives deeper into this idea of holiday self-gifting and why it’s so important. I suggest you buy a little gift just for yourself that ties into your self-care goals for the upcoming year, and share a variety of gift ideas to spark inspiration.

Studies show small acts of self-compassion build resilience over time, allowing us to better handle the holidays and all of life’s ups and downs. So this year, spread some holiday cheer to the most important person – yourself!
