Business in Heels International is a WEConnect International certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) that works to unlock the potential for business through the empowerment of women in business. They do this in the following three ways – connection, education and marketing. BIHI has over 40 connected communities online with approximately 20 Branch Directors largely located in Australia with a few overseas. Ultimately, they connect over 160,000 business women through their website, which is similar to a ‘LinkedIn’ for women, providing resources, opportunities and choice.
WEConnect International is a global non-profit that helps women-owned businesses succeed in global value chains. WEConnect International is a global non-profit organization that identifies, educates, registers, and certifies women’s business enterprises based outside of the U.S. that are at least 51% owned, managed, and controlled by one or more women, and connects them with its multinational corporate member buyers. WEConnect International corporate members represent over $1 trillion in annual purchasing power and a deep commitment to supplier development and inclusive sourcing, including expanding their spend with women-owned businesses. The result is a network of corporate buyers working with women business owners based in over 100 countries that are learning, collaborating and winning billions of dollars in new business.
The two organizations are keen to expand opportunities for women business owners in Australia and expect to announce joint activities in the coming months. BIHI CEO, Lisa Sweeney is excited to partner with WEConnect International, “This partnership is a great example of collaboration between like-minded organizations. Today, if you want to go far, go together.”

Vazquez, CEO & Co-founder, WEConnect International is also thrilled to partner with BIHI: “The women business owners in Australia and beyond continue to impress our corporate members and other stakeholders with their innovation and acumen; WEConnect International’s partnership with BIHI will allow us to work together to provide additional opportunities to these amazing women entrepreneurs.
